Spent the afternoon with my girls...Kim, Dawn and Lisa. Most of our little get-togethers include munching, chatting and some sort of crazy outting. This time around it included getting pierced. We all went in a totally different directions and all got something different done. Kim...her nose (4th times a charm), Dawn...her belly button (it's straight this time), Lisa...her inner ear (what's it called...tragus or something like that) and I re-did my tongue. Somehow we always find fun in self-mutilation. Tee-hee-hee!
So anyhoo, the tongue is a little swollen today. I'm popping advil and sucking on ice chips and going with the flow. If you do the crime than you have to do the time...right? The swelling is nothing major though and was totally to be expected. The piercing itself is pretty painless...the least painful of all piercings according to the "ouch-factor" chart on the wall at Gothic Tattoo. We won't even discuss the most painful. It's also the only piercing that is pretty much completely healed in a week. The last time I got my tongue pierced was about 8 years ago and I had it for 1.5 years. Let's see how long it lasts this time around.
